Caring for
Pearls...
by Julie Lee
of Julie's Jewelry Design, LLC
- Cultured pearls are precious jewels and should be treated as such.
- Carefully wear and store them because they can be easily scratched.
- Don't expose them to hair sprays, cosmetics, or perfumes. Put your
pearls on after these have been applied and have dried. Remember the
"put on last, take off first" rule.
- Don't wear them while bathing or while playing sports.
- Don't clean them with chemicals or abrasives or in an ultrasonic or steam
cleaning machine. Instead, wipe them with a soft, damp cloth after each
wearing.
- Place them in a chamois, silk, or cotton bag or wrap them in tissue when
putting them away.
